Fr. Z's argument for why pro-lifers should never "tone it down"

A must read. Fr. Z ably refutes the idea that pro-lifers should tone it down on abortion and, perhaps, address "more pressing" problems first. He rightly sees that kind of idea as the equivalent of many perhaps sympathetic but uncomfortable whites during the civil rights movement, who may have admonished more "vocal" whites for "stirring the pot", "being harsh", and even inciting violence (violence they themselves often were victims of).

Today the pro-life movement is attacked, of course, from without, but also from within, from well meaning folk who loathe ruffling feathers. We have to convince these people that the battle to end the scourge of abortion won't necessarily be pretty.
